Celtics Take 2-0 Lead in First-Round Playoff Series

Perkins Praises Holiday's Leadership

BOSTON - Jaylen Brown exploded for 40 points as the Boston Celtics defeated the Indiana Pacers 126-110 on Friday night at TD Garden, taking a 2-0 lead in their first-round playoff series.

Brown's offensive outburst came after the Pacers had taken an eight-point lead with less than three minutes remaining in the third quarter. However, the Celtics stormed back behind Brown's scoring and a stifling defense that forced Indiana into several turnovers.

Jayson Tatum added 24 points for Boston, while Marcus Smart contributed 20 points and 12 rebounds. Myles Turner led the Pacers with 27 points, and Tyrese Haliburton scored 22.

In other news, former Celtics player Kendrick Perkins praised the leadership of Jrue Holiday, who was traded to Boston in the offseason. Perkins said Holiday has brought a "winning mentality" to the team.

The Celtics will look to close out the series in Game 3 on Monday night in Indianapolis.
